The objective of this program is to encourage the association of several teams to answer a common scientific question, which could not be addressed individually by the teams, and would therefore be approached in an interdisciplinary and collaborative way. A large proportion of the Labex renewal budget, \u20ac 3 million, is dedicated to this program.<\/p>\n

The Transverse program is divided into three phases.<\/p>\n

First phase <\/strong><\/h3>\n

Two projects were selected and launched in September 2020:
1)\u00a0Adaptation of intestinal stem cells to injury – impact on stem cell niche plasticity and tissue integrity<\/strong>
In this project, the question of the regulation of the fate of intestinal stem cells is addressed using intestinal organoids as a model system. The objectives of this work, bringing together four teams, are to define how cell division contributes to determining the fate of intestinal stem cells and how their identity is maintained.
2) Neural organoids to investigate interplays between mechanical and transcriptional cues underpinning normal and pathological neurodevelopment<\/strong>
In this project, eight teams with complementary expertise aim to study the interactions between mechanical and transcriptional signals that dictate the spatio-temporal dynamics of fate and cellular form, underlying the normal or pathological development of the human central nervous system.<\/p>\n

Second phase<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Two projects were selected and launched in May 2021:
1) Who am I Single Cell Initiative – WISCI<\/strong>
This project brings together four teams whose objective is to remove the limitations to the performance of Single-Cell genomics experiments at Universit\u00e9 Paris Cit\u00e9. To do this, this project builds on and strengthens existing platforms. In addition, interactions between biologists, philosophers and historians of science are promoted around the study of the concept of the cell.
2) Decoding locus-specific molecular interaction networks – DECODERS<\/strong>
Bringing together teams from three partner structures, this consortium aims to decode locus-specific molecular interaction networks. The development of spatially resolved proteomics and transcriptomics approaches allows this study at the level of individual genomic sequences.<\/p>\n

Third phase<\/strong><\/h3>\n

One project was selected and launched in December 2021:
Bio-MechanicsOpticsElectricity – BioMechanOE
<\/strong>This last selected project has two main objectives: combine several mechanobiological and optical techniques on the same set-ups to make simultaneous measurements, and use these technologies to explore the links between tumor development and metabolism. Led by two main Labex’s partners, it combines the expertise from four structures and includes a science outreach part.<\/p>\n

L\u2019objectif de ce programme est d\u2019encourager l\u2019association de plusieurs \u00e9quipes pour r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 une question scientifique commune, qui ne pourrait pas \u00eatre trait\u00e9e individuellement par les \u00e9quipes, et serait donc abord\u00e9e de fa\u00e7on interdisciplinaire et collaborative. Deux projets ont \u00e9t\u00e9 s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9s et lanc\u00e9s en septembre 2020 :
1) Adaptation of intestinal stem cells to injury - impact on stem cell niche plasticity and tissue integrity<\/em><\/strong>
Dans ce projet, la question de la r\u00e9gulation du destin des cellules souches intestinales est abord\u00e9e \u00e0 l'aide d'organo\u00efdes intestinaux comme syst\u00e8me mod\u00e8le. Les objectifs de ces travaux, r\u00e9unissant quatre \u00e9quipes, sont de d\u00e9finir comment la division cellulaire contribue \u00e0 d\u00e9terminer le devenir des cellules souches intestinales et comment leur identit\u00e9 est maintenue.
2) Neural organoids to investigate interplays between mechanical and transcriptional cues underpinning normal and pathological neurodevelopment<\/em><\/strong>
Dans ce projet, huit \u00e9quipes aux expertises compl\u00e9mentaires visent \u00e0 \u00e9tudier les interactions entre les signaux m\u00e9caniques et transcriptionnels qui dictent la dynamique spatio-temporelle du destin et de la forme cellulaire, sous-tendant le d\u00e9veloppement normal ou pathologique du syst\u00e8me nerveux central humain.<\/p>

Deux projets ont \u00e9t\u00e9 s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9s et lanc\u00e9s en mai 2021 :
1) Who am I Single Cell Initiative - WISCI<\/em><\/strong>
Ce projet r\u00e9unit quatre \u00e9quipes dont l'objectif est de lever les limitations \u00e0 la r\u00e9alisation des exp\u00e9riences de g\u00e9nomique Single-Cell \u00e0 Universit\u00e9 Paris Cit\u00e9. Pour cela, ce projet s'appuie sur et renforce les plates-formes existantes. De plus, les interactions entre biologistes, philosophes et historiens des sciences sont favoris\u00e9es autour de l'\u00e9tude du concept de cellule.
2) Decoding locus-\u00adspecific molecular interaction networks - DECODERS
<\/em><\/strong>R\u00e9unissant de nombreuses \u00e9quipes de l'Institut Jacques Monod, de l'Institut Cochin et de l'unit\u00e9 Epign\u00e9tique et Destin Cellulaire, ce consortium vise \u00e0 d\u00e9coder des r\u00e9seaux d'interactions mol\u00e9culaires locus-sp\u00e9cifiques. Le d\u00e9veloppement d'approches de prot\u00e9omique et de transcriptomique spatialement r\u00e9solues permet cette \u00e9tude au niveau de s\u00e9quences g\u00e9nomiques individuelles.<\/p>
