L\u2019utilisation des no\u00ebls traditionnels est propre \u00e0 la musique savante de la fin du r\u00e8gne de Louis XIV \u00e0 la R\u00e9volution. Que ce soit \u00e0 l\u2019orgue, \u00e0 l\u2019orchestre ou avec les voix, on cherche des formes plus simples, loin des apparats versaillais. De Rousseau jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la Ferme de Marie-Antoinette, cette recherche du naturel se retrouve dans la plupart des expressions culturelles et id\u00e9ologiques de cette p\u00e9riode. Aussi les chants populaires, venus des r\u00e9gions du royaume de France, repr\u00e9sentent parfaitement la simplicit\u00e9 des bergers devant la cr\u00e8che, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire la simplicit\u00e9 retrouv\u00e9e de l\u2019homme \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tat de nature.<\/p>\n
