Apr\u00e8s une introduction sur ce qu\u2019est l\u2019art cin\u00e9matographique et sur les origines de la cr\u00e9ation de Hollywood, sera pr\u00e9sent\u00e9, dans ses grandes lignes, ce qu\u2019\u00e9tait le cin\u00e9ma hollywoodien au temps de son classicisme, soit des ann\u00e9es 1920 aux ann\u00e9es 1950. Seront \u00e9tudi\u00e9s les grands \u00e9v\u00e9nements qui ont fait son histoire (le passage du muet au parlant, la mise en place du code Hays (code d\u2019autocensure), le maccarthysme et les lois contre les grands studios) et son syst\u00e8me \u00e9conomique, mais surtout son esth\u00e9tique \u00e0 travers ses genres les plus embl\u00e9matiques\u00a0: le m\u00e9lodrame, les diff\u00e9rentes com\u00e9dies (musicale, loufoque, sophistiqu\u00e9e), le film noir, le western\u00a0; le tout illustr\u00e9 par des extraits de films.<\/p>\n
