Following the canonical insertion of queer theory in academic debates, queer of colour theorisation has to sought to interrogate crossings of race, sexuality, gender, class and nation in order to produce nuanced analyses of power and privilege. Established academics and queer of colour activists have contributed to the burgeoning critique of whiteness in queer theory and hetero-centrism in people of colour (POC) activism.<\/p>\n

The critical genealogy of queer of colour critique explicitly draws from black and third world feminisms. This seminar considers queer of colour critique in relation to its departure from conventional accounts of queerness in our globalised times, offering a comprehensive understanding of rubrics and vocabularies of queer studies and queer of colour critique.<\/p>\n

Depuis une d\u00e9cennie, les films ou les s\u00e9ries de super-h\u00e9ros sont en t\u00eate des box-offices du monde entier. Cr\u00e9\u00e9es au sein de multinationales et produites d\u2019une mani\u00e8re industrielle, ces \u0153uvres ne fourniraient qu\u2019un amusement sans profondeur. Pourtant, les comics ou les films ne cessent de susciter des pol\u00e9miques dans les m\u00e9dias ou sur les r\u00e9seaux sociaux comme le prouve l\u2019exemple r\u00e9cent de l\u2019orientation sexuelle du fils de Superman. Ce paradoxe entre un vide suppos\u00e9 et une r\u00e9action \u00e9pidermique face au moindre changement d\u00e9montre que ce genre est en fait hautement politique et cela depuis ses origines dans l\u2019entre-deux-guerres.<\/p>

L\u2019analyse historique, sociale et culturelle de ces \u0153uvres est peu mise en avant \u00e0 l\u2019universit\u00e9 alors que la bd franco-belge rentre au Coll\u00e8ge de France. Pourtant, ces \u0153uvres portent en elles une repr\u00e9sentation des diff\u00e9rentes \u00e9poques que le genre a travers\u00e9es. Elles sont un reflet de l\u2019\u00e9poque mais elles portent aussi un regard sur le pass\u00e9. Ce sont ces diff\u00e9rentes visions que nous analyserons lors de la conf\u00e9rence.<\/p>
