L’\u00e9tude couvre une vaste population, incluant les \u00e9tudiantes et \u00e9tudiants, le personnel, les doctorantes et doctorants, permettant ainsi une appr\u00e9hension compl\u00e8te des besoins et des pratiques linguistiques au sein de l\u2019\u00e9tablissement. Le rapport d\u00e9bute par un \u00e9tat des lieux de l\u2019offre en langues pour non-sp\u00e9cialistes propos\u00e9e \u00e0 Universit\u00e9 Paris Cit\u00e9, suivi d’une analyse des besoins et attentes en langues des \u00e9tudiantes et \u00e9tudiants (hors doctorants), bas\u00e9e sur un questionnaire pour lequel 3571 r\u00e9ponses ont \u00e9t\u00e9 collect\u00e9es (facult\u00e9s de Sant\u00e9, Sciences et Soci\u00e9t\u00e9s et Humanit\u00e9s incluses).<\/p>\n
Ces r\u00e9sultats mettent en lumi\u00e8re un int\u00e9r\u00eat prononc\u00e9 des \u00e9tudiantes et \u00e9tudiants interrog\u00e9s pour l’apprentissage des langues, avec seulement 11% des participants n’exprimant pas cette volont\u00e9, et une demande pour 87 langues diff\u00e9rentes. Parmi celles-ci, le cor\u00e9en, le japonais, ainsi que les langues germaniques autres que l’allemand et l’anglais, ont enregistr\u00e9 une demande importante. L’anglais et l’espagnol se d\u00e9marquent comme les langues les plus demand\u00e9es et suivies en cours \u00e0 Universit\u00e9 Paris Cit\u00e9. De plus l\u2019apprentissage des langues \u00e0 l\u2019universit\u00e9 est per\u00e7u, de mani\u00e8re quasi-unanime par les \u00e9tudiantes et \u00e9tudiants interrog\u00e9s, comme un vecteur facilitant leur vie professionnelle actuelle ou future.<\/p>\n
L’enqu\u00eate a \u00e9galement port\u00e9 une attention particuli\u00e8re aux besoins des doctorantes et doctorants, avec 351 r\u00e9ponses exploitables au questionnaire \u00e0 destination de ce public. En tout 44 langues sont souhait\u00e9es par les doctorantes et doctorants interrog\u00e9s. Il est \u00e0 noter que 43,77 % des r\u00e9pondants d\u00e9clarent que la langue d’\u00e9change au sein de leur laboratoire n’est pas leur langue maternelle, alors m\u00eame que le fran\u00e7ais est utilis\u00e9 comme langue d’\u00e9change par 84,66 % du panel. De plus, 75,40 % des r\u00e9pondants \u00e9trangers expriment leur int\u00e9r\u00eat pour des formations en Fran\u00e7ais Langue \u00c9trang\u00e8re (FLE), soulignant ainsi l’importance accord\u00e9e aux formations doctorales comme un soutien bienvenu d\u00e9passant les seuls besoins r\u00e9dactionnels. Bien que la majorit\u00e9 des participants r\u00e9digent leur th\u00e8se en fran\u00e7ais, suivi par l’anglais, la langue de r\u00e9daction ne correspond \u00e0 la langue maternelle que pour un peu plus de la moiti\u00e9 du panel (51,44 %). Les imp\u00e9ratifs li\u00e9s \u00e0 la recherche scientifique constituent la principale motivation guidant les aspirations linguistiques des doctorants interrog\u00e9s.<\/p>\n
Les \u00e9tudiants de la licence au master expriment un int\u00e9r\u00eat marqu\u00e9 pour le d\u00e9veloppement de leurs comp\u00e9tences orales (59,12%), tandis que les doctorants soulignent un besoin important d’accompagnement li\u00e9 \u00e0 la compr\u00e9hension et \u00e0 l’expression \u00e9crite (capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 r\u00e9diger des articles scientifiques, notamment en anglais).<\/p>\n
Concernant le personnel, qu’il s’agisse des membres administratifs ou du corps enseignant et de recherche, un total de 594 r\u00e9ponses exploitables a \u00e9t\u00e9 recueilli via un troisi\u00e8me questionnaire. Comme pour les doctorants, la demande en langues porte sur 44 langues diff\u00e9rentes. Parmi les r\u00e9pondants, 23,10 % ont indiqu\u00e9 avoir suivi un cours de langue (principalement en anglais) \u00e0 Universit\u00e9 Paris Cit\u00e9 ou dans les \u00e9tablissements fondateurs. Les motivations avanc\u00e9es par les membres du personnel interrog\u00e9s pour suivre des cours de langues \u00e0 l’universit\u00e9 comprennent entre autres le droit \u00e0 la formation, la communication avec les homologues \u00e9trangers, le d\u00e9veloppement des activit\u00e9s de recherche et l’accueil des \u00e9tudiants internationaux.<\/p>\n
En fin de rapport sont formul\u00e9es des r\u00e9flexions bas\u00e9es sur les bonnes pratiques d’autres universit\u00e9s en fonction des d\u00e9fis identifi\u00e9s \u00e0 Universit\u00e9 Paris Cit\u00e9 en mati\u00e8re de langues.
