Il est ainsi courant d\u2019entendre aujourd\u2019hui que de nouveaux r\u00e9cits collectifs doivent \u00e9merger. Des r\u00e9cits qui viseraient \u00e0 tarir les inqui\u00e9tudes de notre \u00e9poque, \u00e0 r\u00e9enchanter, \u00e0 redonner de l\u2019espoir et \u00e0 faire \u00e0 nouveau communaut\u00e9, conf\u00e9rant alors \u00e0 cet \u00e9lan collectif un potentiel quasi magique. Ces diff\u00e9rentes tentatives de formulations d\u2019a-venirs ne sont, pour au\u00actant, pas exemptes d\u2019id\u00e9ologies. Aussi, assistons-nous depuis peu \u00e0 ce que nous pouvons appeler une \u00abbataille des r\u00e9cits\u00bb: une bataille dans les modalit\u00e9s d\u2019anticipation de nos futurs et des sc\u00e9narios extr\u00eames auquel notre \u00e9poque nous enjoint de r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir ; une bataille entra\u00eenant \u00e9galement des strat\u00e9gies et des politiques diff\u00e9rentes, voire oppos\u00e9es. Ce livre, en revenant sur les fonctions et les puissances politiques du r\u00e9cit et en rappelant combien il est aussi question de visions, interroge les enjeux relatifs \u00e0 cet usage, aux besoins qu\u2019il r\u00e9v\u00e8le et aux difficult\u00e9s qu\u2019il r\u00e9serve. Par ailleurs, face aux catastrophes annonc\u00e9es, aux risques d\u2019effondrements et aux d\u00e9sarrois qu\u2019ils suscitent, cette demande sociale de formulations d\u2019avenir, pragmatiques, s\u2019est acc\u00e9l\u00e9r\u00e9e avec force, d\u00e9marginalisant ainsi ce qui, hier, \u00e9tait objet de militantisme. Autour de ces enjeux de formulation du pire, s\u2019est en effet cr\u00e9\u00e9e en France depuis 2015 une v\u00e9ritable n\u00e9buleuse o\u00f9 s\u2019entrem\u00ealent \u00e9tudes scientifiques, travaux de vulgarisation, mais \u00e9galement communaut\u00e9s et collectifs affinitaires. C\u2019est \u00e9galement l\u2019objet de ce livre de restituer les r\u00e9cits d\u2019effondrements, d\u2019en comprendre les origines et de revenir sur les vertus, crispations et affects qu\u2019ils brassent.
