M\u00e9lody Xu Yang entre \u00e0 la rentr\u00e9e prochaine en deuxi\u00e8<\/strong>me ann<\/strong>\u00e9e de doctorat en litt\u00e9rature \u00e0 Universit\u00e9 Paris Cit\u00e9. Venue de Chine en 2018 pour poursuivre ses \u00e9tudes en Lettres et approfondir sa connaissance du fran\u00e7ais, elle consacre aujourd\u2019hui sa th\u00e8se au c\u00e9l\u00e8bre po\u00e8te fran\u00e7ais Arthur Rimbaud. Cet \u00e9t\u00e9, elle a \u00e9galement particip\u00e9 \u00e0 la Guilde Summer School<\/a> organis\u00e9e par l’universit\u00e9 de Glasgow <\/strong>: un programme international d\u2019\u00e9tude abordant cette ann\u00e9e la th\u00e9matique research communication<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Arthur Rimbaud\u00a0: une d\u00e9couverte d\u00e9terminante pour son parcours d\u2019\u00e9tudes<\/h3>\n

Apr\u00e8s avoir d\u00e9couvert ce c\u00e9l\u00e8bre po\u00e8te fran\u00e7ais en 2014, M\u00e9lody Xu s\u2019est inscrite en licence de langue fran\u00e7aise en Chine pour apprendre le fran\u00e7ais. \u00ab\u00a0En L3, j\u2019<\/em>ai d<\/em>\u00e9<\/em>cid<\/em>\u00e9 de poursuivre mes \u00e9tudes en Master de Lettres en France, o\u00f9 j\u2019ai eu la chance de rencontrer mon actuel directeur de th\u00e8se\u00a0\u00bb. <\/em>Depuis 2018, l\u2019\u00e9tudiante poursuit ses \u00e9tudes \u00e0 Universit\u00e9 Paris Cit\u00e9.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Pour cette polyglotte passionn\u00e9e, manier trois langues est un jeu d\u2019enfant : \u00ab\u00a0j’ai commenc\u00e9 le chinois \u00e0 l’\u00e2ge d’un an et l’anglais \u00e0 l’\u00e2ge de trois ans, donc j’ai globalement grandi avec ces deux langues\u00a0\u00bb<\/em>. C\u2019est \u00e0 dix-sept ans, en entrant en licence, qu\u2019elle a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 apprendre le fran\u00e7ais. \u00ab\u00a0J’ai beaucoup appris gr\u00e2ce aux manuels en fran\u00e7ais et en anglais car ces deux langues se ressemblent, et je suis vraiment fan de com\u00e9dies musicales fran\u00e7aises\u00a0!\u00a0\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n

M\u00e9lody Xu est convaincue que ce n’est pas par la traduction mot \u00e0 mot et par les exercices r\u00e9p\u00e9titifs de grammaire que l’on atteint un bon niveau de langue\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0<\/em>Pass<\/em>\u00e9 le niveau d\u00e9butant, il faut inviter la nouvelle langue dans son quotidien, l’aimer et la respirer. D\u2019ailleurs, ce n’est pas grave de ne pas avoir le m\u00eame niveau dans toutes les langues car nos exp\u00e9riences avec ces langues ne sont (presque) jamais les m\u00eames<\/em>.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n

La jeune doctorante est plus \u00e0 l\u2019aise au quotidien en anglais. Elle utilise le fran\u00e7ais pour la recherche et pense en chinois lorsqu\u2019elle a besoin de parler \u00e0 sa famille.<\/p>\n

La Guilde Summer School : <\/em>une semaine pour s\u2019ouvrir \u00e0 tous les horizons de la recherche et gagner en confiance<\/h3>\n

\u00ab Je me suis inscrite \u00e0 la <\/em>Guilde Summer School parce que la th\u00e9matique Communication m\u2019int\u00e9ressait beaucoup. Doctorante en Lettres, je suis plut\u00f4t solitaire dans mes \u00e9tudes et quand on me demande ce que je fais en th\u00e8se, j\u2019ai parfois du mal \u00e0 r\u00e9pondre. Par souci de confidentialit\u00e9 je ne peux pas tout dire et je trouvais sympathique de pouvoir \u00ab\u00a0communiquer\u00a0\u00bb un peu ce que je fais \u00bb, <\/em>nous explique M\u00e9lody Xu.<\/em><\/p>\n

Lors de la Guilde Summer School, l\u2019\u00e9tudiante a eu l’opportunit\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9changer avec d\u2019autres doctorants aux parcours et domaines de recherche tr\u00e8s vari\u00e9s :\u00a0\u00ab Malgr\u00e9 <\/em>nos diff<\/em>\u00e9rences,\u00a0j’ai vu \u00e0 quel point nos exp\u00e9riences se ressemblaient. Cela m’a rendue beaucoup moins solitaire\u00a0\u00bb<\/em>. Les intervenants et animateurs ont donn\u00e9 aux \u00e9tudiants des astuces pour les aider \u00e0 mieux communiquer sur leurs recherches. Certains doctorants, plus \u00e2g\u00e9s, ont partag\u00e9 leur exp\u00e9rience et parl\u00e9 des pi\u00e8ges \u00e0 \u00e9viter.<\/p>\n

Initialement pr\u00e9vue \u00e0 Glasgow, ce programme international a finalement eu lieu en ligne en raison de la crise sanitaire. \u00ab C’est vrai que c’\u00e9tait un peu sp\u00e9cial d’avoir la Guilde Summer School en ligne. Mais les animateurs ont fait le maximum pour nous donner l’impression d’\u00eatre en \u00c9cosse, notamment au travers de pr\u00e9sentations sur la culture \u00e9cossaise. \u00bb\u00a0\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n

Toujours en qu\u00eate de d\u00e9fi, notre \u00e9tudiante polyglotte est en ce moment en train d\u2019apprendre une quatri\u00e8me langue : le n\u00e9erlandais. Genieten van !<\/p>\n
