Florence Xiangyun Zhang est traductologue et traductrice. Elle enseigne la langue chinoise et la traduction \u00e0 l\u2019UFR LCAO, et elle est membre du Centre de recherche sur les civilisations de l’Asie orientale (CRCAO). Elle travaille sur la traduction litt\u00e9raire, sur la pens\u00e9e de la traduction, et l\u2019histoire de la traduction en Chine, et a coordonn\u00e9 des travaux d\u2019\u00e9tudes traductologiques.
Ancien traducteur professionnel, Nicolas Froeliger est professeur \u00e0 l’UFR EILA et membre du Centre de Linguistique Inter-langues, de Lexicologie, de Linguistique Anglaise et de Corpus-Atelier de Recherche sur la Parole (CLILLAC-ARP). L\u2019\u00e9volution du monde modifie sans cesse le r\u00f4le de la traduction et la mani\u00e8re dont celle-ci peut et doit \u00eatre pens\u00e9e. Aujourd\u2019hui, la traduction ne peut plus \u00eatre vue uniquement comme un acte de communication, ou comme un acte de langage : elle est un ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne culturel, dans ses d\u00e9terminations et ses effets. Elle n\u2019est pas plus dict\u00e9e par une m\u00e9thode que dirig\u00e9e par une philosophie. Elle rel\u00e8ve autant de l\u2019histoire, de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9, qu\u2019enti\u00e8rement du politique.
L\u2019acte de traduire est-il motiv\u00e9 par un engagement politique ? Constitue-t-il un engagement politique ? Le traducteur est-il engag\u00e9 consciemment ? La traduction appelle-t-elle l\u2019engagement politique des autres ? Mais quel engagement politique ? Dans quelles conditions ? Et comment s\u2019engager pour l\u2019avenir de la traduction ?
Tant de questions nous am\u00e8nent \u00e0 r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir sur les r\u00e9alit\u00e9s plurielles de la traduction, \u00e0 \u00e9viter les r\u00e9ponses simples, voire simplistes. \u00ab Collaborateur \u00bb ou \u00ab r\u00e9sistant \u00bb, militant ou prudent, ind\u00e9pendant ou collectif, enthousiasm\u00e9 ou lucide, le positionnement du traducteur refl\u00e8te des situations complexes et conduit \u00e0 des choix de traduction multiples. C\u2019est ce que montrent nos treize auteurs travaillant sur des sujets vari\u00e9s allant de l\u2019anthologie litt\u00e9raire en wolof \u00e0 la transcription du ta\u00efwanais, du texte de Rousseau au th\u00e9\u00e2tre de Miller, de la diplomatie de la IIIe R\u00e9publique fran\u00e7aise \u00e0 la politique du multilinguisme d\u2019aujourd\u2019hui, de la r\u00e9quisition de traducteurs jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la r\u00e9gulation de la profession. Mais cette \u00e9blouissante pluralit\u00e9 concourt \u00e0 la nettet\u00e9 de l\u2019image que la pr\u00e9face de Tiphaine Samoyault met en avant : celle du courage du traducteur.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
