En Am\u00e9rica Latina como en Espa\u00f1a, luego de largos per\u00edodos de conflictos armados o dictaduras, las iniciativas para la apertura de las fosas comunes se han multiplicado en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os, bajo dispositivos uniformizados, agrupados bajo la categor\u00eda de justicia transicional.
La publicaci\u00f3n arroja luces sobre la forma en que los ritos funerarios y el imaginario acerca de la muerte violenta se recomponen en este contexto singular.
Las contribuciones basadas en investigaciones de campo realizadas en Argentina, Colombia, Espa\u00f1a, Guatemala y Per\u00fa, estudian las exhumaciones y los entierros ulteriores del posconflicto en su triple dimensi\u00f3n antropol\u00f3gica: sociopol\u00edtica, cultural y simb\u00f3lica.
