Le laboratoire en quelques mots<\/h2>\n

Le Laboratoire Interdisciplinaire des Energies de Demain (LIED) a pour objectif fondateur de d\u00e9velopper \u00ab l\u2019\u00e9cologie des \u00e9nergies \u00bb, en menant \u00e0 la fois recherches scientifiques et techniques guid\u00e9es par les probl\u00e8mes \u00e0 r\u00e9soudre dans le cadre de la transition \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique et de l\u2019accroissement des besoins mondiaux en \u00e9nergie.
Il r\u00e9pond \u00e0 la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 d\u2019une approche interdisciplinaire des probl\u00e8mes pos\u00e9s, en f\u00e9d\u00e9rant les membres \u2013 universitaires ou venant d\u2019entreprises \u2013 des secteurs Sciences (Biologie, Chimie, Informatique, Math\u00e9matiques, Physique, Sciences de l\u2019Ing\u00e9nieur, Sciences de la Terre) et Sciences Humaines et Sociales (Anthropologie, Economie, G\u00e9ographie, Histoire, Philosophie, Ecologie, Sciences politiques, Sociologie).<\/p>\n

Les membres de l\u2019UMR LIED (17 du secteur sciences et 9 du secteur SHS) se composent de 8 PR, 11 MCU, 3 personnels CNRS (1CR, 1IR, 1assimil\u00e9e) et de 4 consultants. Le LIED constitue \u00e9galement la pierre angulaire de l\u2019Institut des Energies de Demain (IED), appel\u00e9 \u00e0 devenir l\u2019un des quatre instituts transversaux de l\u2019IDEX SCP. Celui-ci comprend l\u2019UMR LIED, la f\u00e9d\u00e9ration IED et le r\u00e9seau international PIERI (Paris Interdisciplinary Energy Research Institute).
L\u2019ensemble forme un \u00ab dispositif \u00bb en cinq modes d\u2019appartenance dont le premier est l’UMR LIED proprement dite. Le deuxi\u00e8me mode d\u2019appartenance \u00e0 LIED rassemble des membres de la plupart des laboratoires du campus Paris Diderot, irriguant le LIED par ses racines pluridisciplinaires. Deux autres modes l\u2019ouvrent \u00e0 des laboratoires d’autres PRES et aux entreprises, dont bon nombre le soutiennent tr\u00e8s concr\u00e8tement, en particulier celles qui font partie du conseil scientifique du LIED : AREVA, Bouygues, EDF, Saint-Gobain. Son ouverture internationale est le r\u00e9seau PIERI.<\/p>\n

La figure, g\u00e9n\u00e9ralisable \u00e0 plusieurs f\u00e9d\u00e9rations de recherche, correspond au cas de deux : celle de l’institut des \u00e9nergies de demain (avec l\u2019UMR LIED repr\u00e9sent\u00e9e par un cercle blanc not\u00e9 1) et d\u2019une autre centr\u00e9e sur le laboratoire X (repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 par un cercle blanc not\u00e9 X). Les laboratoires du campus Paris Diderot mutualis\u00e9s avec le LIED sont les cercles color\u00e9s not\u00e9s 2. Ceux satellis\u00e9s par le X sont des cercles not\u00e9s ? \u00e0 colorer selon leurs disciplines. Les laboratoires interagissant avec le LIED et X sont les cercles color\u00e9s not\u00e9s 3 ou 4 selon leurs degr\u00e9s d\u2019interaction avec ces laboratoires (sph\u00e8res 3 ou 4 respectivement). Le caract\u00e8re international du PIERI est symbolis\u00e9 par un rectangle d\u2019o\u00f9 proviennent des interactions multiformes.<\/p>\n

The LIED and its international network PIERI (Paris Interdisciplinary Energy Research Institute) have been launched in the context of increased worldwide demands in energy in the face of environmental concerns, i.e. sustainable resources and impact on the climate.\u00a0
The LIED favours a global approach and aims at resolving questions at the national and international level by a unique multi-disciplinary approach encompassing basic science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Informatics, Mathematics, Earth sciences and Engineering) as well as social sciences (Anthropology, Economics, Geography, History, Philosophy, Political sciences), whether in the academic or industrial domain.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0Objectives<\/strong><\/u>\u00a0: Develop basic and applied science in response to the challenges of the \u201cenergy transition\u201d with a focus on the interaction between energy, environment and climate. In the domain of biology, the LIED aims at understanding the basic mechanisms underlying energetic processes in microorganisms and in plants. It fosters applied science for the development of production and transformation of biomass.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The work of the PIERI is organised around four axes\u00a0:<\/p>\n

The titles of first two axes already illustrate the aspiration to combine fundamental and applied research. Two complementary research groups have been established, entitled\u00a0: \u2018Innovative energy sources and biomaterials\u2019 and \u2018Energy transport, instabilities and fluctuations\u2019, composed mainly of researchers from sciences and technologies, but with input from social scientists. The third axis is subdivided into six themes, which all bring together the physical and the social sciences, namely\u00a0:<\/p>\n
