The Laboratory of Theoretical Biochemistry (LBT)\u00a0is one of five laboratories within\u00a0Institut de Biologie Physico-Chimique (IBPC)<\/u>\u00a0in Paris.<\/p>\n

LBT\u00a0belongs to\u00a0the\u00a0French national research agency CNRS through its\u00a0Institute of Chemistry, and is associated with Paris Diderot University.\u00a0The laboratory was created at IBPC in 1958 as Laboratoire de Biochimie Th\u00e9orique. Our field is theoretical and computational biochemistry, at the interface between biology, chemistry, physics, and computing.<\/p>\n

Our strategic objectives are twofold: invent simulation algorithms to reproduce and predict physical properties of biomolecules either in vitro or in the cell, and understand the molecular or conformational factors responsible for the biological functions of living systems, and diseases. The equilibrium between these two aspects is the key point of the laboratory policy.<\/p>\n

LBT is organized as a team of independent researchers with complementary interests and domains of expertise, both in method development and in biophysical, biochemical, and biomedical applications. Advances in each of these domains emerge from the association of different sets of researchers around individual projects.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Les axes de recherches du LBT se concentrent sur les d\u00e9veloppements m\u00e9thodologiques et algorithmiques pour l\u2019\u00e9tude de la structure, la dynamique, la m\u00e9canique et les interactions des macromol\u00e9cules biologiques.<\/p>\n

Les objectifs sont donc d’utiliser les ordinateurs pour ouvrir des fen\u00eatres vers le monde mol\u00e9culaire, en aidant \u00e0 comprendre les facteurs qui sous-tendent des faits exp\u00e9rimentaux, et en pr\u00e9disant les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s et le comportement des mol\u00e9cules biologiques.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
