Avec cette nom nomination, Virginie Courtier et Benoit Ladoux rejoignent une communaut\u00e9\u00a0de 1900 chercheurs de premier plan, qui promeut l’excellence dans les sciences de la vie en Europe et au-del\u00e0. Les objectifs de l’EMBO sont de soutenir les chercheurs talentueux \u00e0 tous les stades de leur carri\u00e8re, de stimuler l’\u00e9change d’informations scientifiques et d’aider \u00e0 construire un environnement de recherche o\u00f9 les scientifiques peuvent r\u00e9aliser leurs meilleurs travaux.<\/p>\n

Virginie Courtier <\/b><\/span>\u00e9tudie l’\u00e9volution des esp\u00e8ces de drosophiles afin de mieux comprendre les m\u00e9canismes de l’\u00e9volution. Nous analysons en particulier les bioadh\u00e9sifs produits par les mouches drosophiles. Avec Arnaud Martin, je maintiens www.gephebase.org<\/span>, une base de donn\u00e9es des g\u00e8nes qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 identifi\u00e9s comme contribuant aux diff\u00e9rences ph\u00e9notypiques naturelles chez les plantes et les animaux. Je travaille \u00e9galement sur la philosophie de la biologie, l’origine du SARS-CoV-2 et les risques associ\u00e9s \u00e0 la nouvelle biotechnologie appel\u00e9e \u00ab\u00a0for\u00e7age g\u00e9n\u00e9tique\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Benoit Ladoux <\/b><\/span>est physicien de formation, et \u00e9tudie la m\u00e9canique cellulaire. Ses premiers travaux ont port\u00e9 sur l\u2019\u00e9tude de mol\u00e9cules uniques. Il a ensuite d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 une activit\u00e9 de recherche en m\u00e9canique et adh\u00e9sion cellulaire en tant que chef d\u2019\u00e9quipe au sein du laboratoire Mati\u00e8re et Syst\u00e8mes Complexes. En 2008, il a particip\u00e9 \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation de l’Institut de M\u00e9canobiologie (MBI) dirig\u00e9 par MP. Sheetz \u00e0 Singapour. Il a obtenu un poste de professeur titulaire au d\u00e9partement de physique de l’Universit\u00e9 Paris Diderot en 2010. Apr\u00e8s avoir pass\u00e9 deux ans \u00e0 Singapour entre 2010 et 2012, il revient \u00e0 Paris et rejoint l’Institut Jacques Monod en tant que chef d’\u00e9quipe senior avec Ren\u00e9-Marc M\u00e8ge, un biologiste cellulaire. En 2015, il devient directeur de recherche au CNRS. De 2012 \u00e0 2018, il a partag\u00e9 son temps entre Paris et Singapour.<\/p>\n

Ses recherches visent \u00e0 comprendre comment les m\u00e9canismes d’adh\u00e9sion cellulaire sont associ\u00e9s \u00e0 la m\u00e9canotransduction et comment la m\u00e9canod\u00e9tection r\u00e9gule l’adh\u00e9sion de cellules uniques, la migration cellulaire collective et l’hom\u00e9ostasie tissulaire. Ses recherches r\u00e9centes ont port\u00e9 sur le r\u00f4le de la n\u00e9matique active dans les m\u00e9canismes de s\u00e9gr\u00e9gation tissulaire et d’extrusion cellulaire.<\/p>\n
