Rencontre avec la Professeure Florence Chapeland Leclerc, enseignante-chercheuse en botanique et en mycologie \u00e0 l\u2019universit\u00e9 Paris Cit\u00e9, \u00e0 l\u2019occasion de l\u2019exposition annuelle que la Facult\u00e9 de Pharmacie consacre aux champignons, et qui se tiendra cette ann\u00e9e le mercredi 30 octobre de 11h \u00e0 17h dans le hall d\u2019honneur de la Facult\u00e9. O\u00f9 il a notamment \u00e9t\u00e9 question de la place des champignons au sein du vivant, et de leur importance pour la science.<\/p>\n

Vous \u00eates mycologue et botaniste au sein de la Facult\u00e9 de Pharmacie de notre universit\u00e9. L\u2019association de ces deux disciplines signifie-t-elle que les champignons font partie des v\u00e9g\u00e9taux\u00a0? <\/strong><\/h4>\n

Non, en aucun cas. Depuis les ann\u00e9es 1970, la classification des champignons est totalement distincte de celle des v\u00e9g\u00e9taux. Ils forment leur propre r\u00e8gne vivant, le r\u00e8gne fungi. Le seul point commun que les plantes et les champignons partagent, c\u2019est d\u2019\u00eatre immobiles.<\/p>\n

Bien qu\u2019aujourd\u2019hui encore, la botanique et la mycologie soient souvent enseign\u00e9es ensemble, il s\u2019agit bien de deux disciplines diff\u00e9rentes. Une partie de la mycologie, celle qui concerne les moisissures et certaines pathologies, est m\u00eame enseign\u00e9e en parasitologie, la discipline qui s\u2019int\u00e9resse aux parasites.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Quelle est l\u2019importance de l\u2019\u00e9tude des champignons aujourd\u2019hui\u00a0? <\/strong><\/h4>\n

La connaissance des champignons est toujours transmise aux pharmaciennes et aux pharmaciens. Celles et ceux qui travailleront en officine auront toujours \u00e0 r\u00e9pondre aux questions que leur poseront les ramasseuses et les ramasseurs de champignons, qui veulent savoir si les sp\u00e9cimens qu\u2019ils ont r\u00e9colt\u00e9s sont comestibles ou non. Bien s\u00fbr, dans le centre de Paris, cette situation n\u2019est pas tr\u00e8s fr\u00e9quente. Mais dans les officines proches des for\u00eats, de nombreuses personnes se pr\u00e9sentent avec des champignons \u00e0 identifier. Le risque est que certaines personnes ne pr\u00e9sentent qu\u2019un seul champignon, et pensent que ceux qui remplissent le coffre de leur voiture sont les m\u00eames. Mais il peut arriver que des champignons toxiques se soient gliss\u00e9s dans le ramassage, et qu\u2019ils ne soient pas pr\u00e9sent\u00e9s \u00e0 un professionnel. C\u2019est souvent ainsi que les accidents se produisent. Il faut donc montrer l\u2019ensemble de sa r\u00e9colte au pharmacien ou \u00e0 la pharmacienne.\u00a0<\/p>\n

La connaissance des champignons est un savoir-faire \u00e0 entretenir, une v\u00e9ritable science de la r\u00e9p\u00e9tition. C\u2019est pourquoi l\u2019universit\u00e9 propose aux pharmaciennes et aux pharmaciens des s\u00e9ances de formation continue, pour maintenir cette connaissance et la faire progresser.<\/p>\n

Pourquoi l\u2019\u00e9tude des champignons est-elle importante pour la science\u00a0? <\/strong><\/h4>\n

En dehors du ramassage individuel des champignons, leur \u00e9tude rev\u00eat un caract\u00e8re essentiel pour la science. En effet, les champignons contribuent au recyclage des mati\u00e8res organiques dans les sols. \u00c0 ce titre, ils entrent pleinement dans le cycle du carbone, si important pour les \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes.<\/p>\n

On le sait moins, mais les champignons ont un m\u00e9tabolisme sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9, et tr\u00e8s actif, qui les d\u00e9signe particuli\u00e8rement en tant que m\u00e9dicaments pour la sant\u00e9 humaine. C\u2019est par exemple le cas de la p\u00e9nicilline. Leurs enzymes sont beaucoup utilis\u00e9es par les industries pharmaceutiques.<\/p>\n

Vous-m\u00eames, ramassez-vous des champignons en for\u00eat\u00a0? <\/strong><\/h4>\n

Bien s\u00fbr\u00a0! J\u2019organise des sorties mycologiques avec les \u00e9tudiantes et les \u00e9tudiants de troisi\u00e8me et de cinqui\u00e8me ann\u00e9e en pharmacie. J\u2019effectue aussi ce type de sorties avec des coll\u00e8gues, par exemple pour pr\u00e9parer notre exposition annuelle sur les champignons<\/a>, cette exposition qui cette ann\u00e9e aura lieu \u00e0 la Facult\u00e9 de Pharmacie le mercredi 30 octobre de 11h \u00e0 17h. Le plus souvent, nous allons en for\u00eat de Rambouillet.<\/p>\n

J\u2019accompagne \u00e9galement des groupes dans le cadre des Mycologiades internationales de Bell\u00eame<\/a>. Il s\u2019agit de rencontres mycologiques organis\u00e9es dans une commune de l\u2019Orne, en Normandie, dont la tradition champignonni\u00e8re remonte au XIXe<\/sup> si\u00e8cle. La derni\u00e8re \u00e9dition a eu lieu au d\u00e9but du mois d\u2019octobre. Enfin, je travaille avec la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 mycologique de France<\/a>, dont le si\u00e8ge est \u00e0 Paris. Nous \u00e9changeons des sp\u00e9cimens, et enrichissons ainsi nos collections.<\/p>\n

Une anecdote, relative aux champignons, vous a-t-elle particuli\u00e8rement marqu\u00e9e\u00a0? <\/strong><\/h4>\n

Je me souviens d\u2019une histoire bien connue, celle de l\u2019empoisonnement de l\u2019empereur Claude par sa femme Agrippine en 54 apr\u00e8s J\u00e9sus-Christ. On raconte que Claude \u00e9tait un grand amateur de champignons, en particulier d\u2019amanites des C\u00e9sars.
