non-sp\u00e9cialistes, et demandent \u00e0 \u00eatre vulgaris\u00e9es.<\/p>\n Le point de d\u00e9part de cette \u00e9tude est un constat que J\u00e9r\u00e9mie Cohen exprime sans d\u00e9tour :<\/p>\n \u00ab\u00a0Les pathologies de l\u2019oreille externe et moyenne, comme les otites et les perforations du tympan, sont tr\u00e8s fr\u00e9quentes. L’examen du tympan avec un otoscope peut \u00eatre difficile et ces difficult\u00e9s diagnostiques peuvent causer des pertes d\u2019audition et des prescriptions inutiles d\u2019antibiotiques.\u00a0<\/em>\u00bb<\/p>\n L\u2019otoscope, cet outil d’examen visuel de l’oreille que tout le monde conna\u00eet, n\u2019est donc pas sans risque. Ce sont les limites de cet appareil que l\u2019\u00e9quipe de recherche s\u2019est attach\u00e9e \u00e0 d\u00e9passer, en mettant au point un syst\u00e8me digital assist\u00e9 par une intelligence artificielle (IA) qui connecte un otoscope \u00e0 un smartphone. Il est alors possible de prendre facilement une photo de l\u2019int\u00e9rieur de l\u2019oreille et de l\u2019analyser gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une application utilisant l\u2019IA. Cette derni\u00e8re a \u00e9t\u00e9 entra\u00een\u00e9e avec plus de 40 000 images d\u2019oreilles et test\u00e9e sur diff\u00e9rentes bases de donn\u00e9es avec de tr\u00e8s bonnes performances, sa sensibilit\u00e9 et sa sp\u00e9cificit\u00e9 d\u00e9passant 98% pour 10 pathologies de l\u2019oreille externe et moyenne.
