Le programme POCUS<\/strong> \u00ab Point of Care Ultrasound \u00bb<\/strong> propose un module optionnel d’apprentissage pratique de l’\u00e9chographie clinique aux \u00e9tudiants du deuxi\u00e8me cycle des \u00e9tudes de m\u00e9decine. – Cette initiative, mise en place par le groupe POCUSi de l’Universit\u00e9 Paris Cit\u00e9, est la premi\u00e8re du genre en France.<\/p>\n

Lanc\u00e9e en janvier 2024, elle a d\u00e9j\u00e0 permis de former 180 \u00e9tudiants de DFASM3, avec des r\u00e9sultats prometteurs.

L\u2019\u00e9chographie clinique – ou \u00ab POCUS \u00bb – est l\u2019utilisation de l\u2019\u00e9chographie au lit du patient, de mani\u00e8re int\u00e9gr\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019examen clinique. Contrairement aux \u00e9chographies traditionnelles effectu\u00e9es par des radiologues dans des services sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9s, le POCUS peut \u00eatre r\u00e9alis\u00e9 par tout m\u00e9decin ayant re\u00e7u une formation minimale. Cette approche ne se substitue pas \u00e0 l\u2019examen clinique habituel, ni \u00e0 la r\u00e9alisation d\u2019\u00e9chographies ou d\u2019autres examens d\u2019imagerie mais permet une meilleure orientation diagnostique, une rationalisation des examens compl\u00e9mentaires et une s\u00e9curisation des gestes techniques.
Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un acc\u00e8s simplifi\u00e9 par des outils plus maniables \u2013 sondes miniatures, syst\u00e8mes ultraportables avec visualisation de l\u2019imagerie sur smartphone ou tablette \u2013 le programme pionnier \u00ab POCUS \u00bb vise \u00e0 doter les \u00e9tudiants en m\u00e9decine du 2e cycle des comp\u00e9tences essentielles en \u00e9chographie clinique.
L\u2019enseignement met l’accent sur l’apprentissage concret : 3 demi-journ\u00e9es de pratique en groupe restreint (30 personnes) apr\u00e8s avoir pass\u00e9 un examen en ligne destin\u00e9 \u00e0 \u00e9valuer leur compr\u00e9hension des concepts th\u00e9oriques de l\u2019\u00e9chographie clinique. La formation s\u2019est d\u00e9roul\u00e9e \u00e0 l’h\u00f4pital Cochin avec une quinzaine d\u2019appareils d’\u00e9chographie et de sondes ultraportables sous la supervision des membres du groupe POCUS. Les \u00e9tudiants ont pu explorer les domaines cl\u00e9s de l’\u00e9chographie cardiaque, abdominale, thoracique et vasculaire.<\/p>\n

Les premiers r\u00e9sultats sont prometteurs ! Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 observ\u00e9 une nette progression chez les \u00e9tudiants dans la ma\u00eetrise de l\u2019\u00e9chographie et plus important encore, cette exp\u00e9rience a suscit\u00e9 un v\u00e9ritable engouement chez les participants pour l’utilisation de l’\u00e9chographie comme un outil clinique polyvalent.
Le succ\u00e8s de ce programme pilote confirme le potentiel de l’\u00e9chographie clinique en tant qu’outil d’\u00e9valuation et de diagnostic accessible et efficace. Fort de cette r\u00e9ussite, le groupe POCUS envisage une extension de cet enseignement novateur afin de mieux pr\u00e9parer les futurs m\u00e9decins \u00e0 l\u2019utilisation de l\u2019\u00e9chographie dans leur pratique quotidienne, ce quelle que soit la sp\u00e9cialit\u00e9 choisie par la suite.<\/p>\n
