Each semester comprises several <strong>UE<\/strong>, and each UE comprises several courses (called \u00ab\u00a0<strong>ECUE<\/strong>\u00ab\u00a0)<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level1\">\n<div class=\"li\">The overall master&rsquo;s grade is the average of the four Master&rsquo;s semesters<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level1\">\n<div class=\"li\">There is no compensation between semesters, each semester must be validated<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level1\">\n<div class=\"li\">There is no compensation between UEs, each UE must be validated<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level1\">\n<div class=\"li\">A course (= one ECUE) is validated iff the grade is \u2265 10<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level1\">\n<div class=\"li\">Within a UE, the grades can compensate each other, which implies that a UE can be sometimes validated even though some of its ECUE are not. More precisely:<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"level1\">\n<div class=\"li\">a UE is validated iff the weighted average of its ECUEs is \u2265 10, and each ECUE&rsquo;s grade is \u2265 7\/20<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>NB:<\/strong> averages are calculated using <strong>coefficients<\/strong>, as defined in the \u00ab\u00a0structure\u00a0\u00bb for each \u00ab\u00a0parcours\u00a0\u00bb:\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress-test.app.u-pariscite.fr\/linguistique\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/44\/2021\/09\/M-LI.pdf\">Computational Linguistics (\u00ab\u00a0parcours LI\u00a0\u00bb)<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress-test.app.u-pariscite.fr\/linguistique\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/44\/2021\/09\/M-LI.pdf\">Theoretical and Experimental Linguistics (\u00ab\u00a0parcours LTE\u00a0\u00bb)<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress-test.app.u-pariscite.fr\/linguistique\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/44\/2021\/09\/M-Phi.pdf\">Phonetics and Phonology (Ph&amp;Ph)<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress-test.app.u-pariscite.fr\/linguistique\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/44\/2021\/09\/M-LAOFLE.pdf\">East Asian Linguistics and FLE Didactics (LAOFLE<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress-test.app.u-pariscite.fr\/linguistique\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/44\/2021\/09\/M-LADFLE.pdf\">Linguistics Applied to the Didactics of French as a Foreign Language (LADFLE)<\/a><\/li>\n<li>LOGOS<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level1\">\n<div class=\"li\">Most courses have a \u00ab\u00a0<strong>second chance<\/strong>\u00a0\u00bb exam (or \u00ab\u00a0<strong>second session<\/strong>\u00ab\u00a0)<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"level1\">\n<div class=\"li\"><strong>except<\/strong> those for which \u00ab\u00a0pas de 2e chance\u00a0\u00bb is indicated in the <a href=\"https:\/\/cloud.parisdescartes.fr\/index.php\/s\/N4JA8AZqQRJnMQf\">official evaluation rules (\u00ab\u00a0MCC\u00a0\u00bb)<\/a><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>IMPORTANT: <\/strong>if a UE is not validated at the first session, then for the ECUE it contains, the grades that are below 10\/20 are not reported for the second session. The student must pass the second chance exam in this case.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Example<\/strong>: for the UE1, if in the first session a student gets\n<ul>\n<li>11 in \u00ab\u00a0phonetics\u00a0\u00bb<\/li>\n<li>10,5 in \u00ab\u00a0theoretical morphology\u00a0\u00bb<\/li>\n<li>9 in \u00ab\u00a0theoretical syntax\u00a0\u00bb<\/li>\n<li>9 in \u00ab\u00a0semantic analysis\u00a0\u00bb<\/li>\n<li>=&gt; she or he must go to the second chance exam in \u00ab\u00a0theoretical syntax\u00a0\u00bb and \u00ab\u00a0semantic analysis\u00a0\u00bb<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>If the M1 year is validated, admission to the M2 year is guaranteed.<\/li>\n<li>If the year is not validated (M1 or M2), <strong>the student may repeat the year, subject to authorization by the jury<\/strong>.\n<ul>\n<li>The validated status of UE and ECUE is transferred throughout the years<\/li>\n<li>But NB: for the ECUE that were neither directly validated nor compensated within the UE, the grades are not transferred to the following year.<\/li>\n<li>Example:\n<ul>\n<li>in UE1, suppose a student gets 8 in phonetics, 9 in theoretical morphology, 12 in syntax, and 10 in semantic analysis. The UE is not validated.<\/li>\n<li>If the student repeats the year, she or he has to do again phonetics and theoretical morphology, the 8 and 9 are completely ignored. class=\"li\">Pas de compensation entre les semestres, chaque semestre doit \u00eatre valid\u00e9<\/div><\/li><li class=\"level1\"><div class=\"li\">Pas de compensation entre les UE, chaque UE doit \u00eatre valid\u00e9e<\/div><\/li><li>Compensation entre les cours (ECUE) d'une m\u00eame UE, modulo la note plancher de 7\/20<ul><li class=\"level1\"><div class=\"li\">c'est-\u00e0-dire qu'une UE
