Cette publication, qui contient 76 pages couleur, a pu voir le jour gr\u00e2ce au prix de th\u00e8se du GIS Asie qu’elle a re\u00e7u au titre de l\u2019ann\u00e9e 2016.<\/p>\n

Tours, grands projets immobiliers, multiplication de shopping malls et nouvelles infrastructures de transport sont autant de symboles de la me\u0301tropolisation acce\u0301le\u0301re\u0301e de H\u00f4 Chi\u0301 Minh Ville aujourd\u2019hui. Cette me\u0301tropole de pre\u0300s de 12 millions d\u2019habitants est entre\u0301e dans \u00ab l\u2019e\u0300re de la grande dimension \u00bb, rede\u0301finissant alors l\u2019espace public de la cite\u0301, ses pratiques et ses conceptions.<\/p>\n

Cependant, a\u0300 rebours de sa progressive verticalisation, c\u2019est le long de ruelles (he\u0309m) que vit 85 % de la population de la ville. Les ruelles demeurent la sce\u0300ne de l\u2019ordinaire urbain. Une sce\u0300ne avec ses codes, ses rythmes propres et la diversite\u0301 de ses acteurs. Outre la forme particulie\u0300re que ces quartiers tre\u0300s denses impriment a\u0300 la ville, les ruelles constituent des espaces ve\u0301cus au sens fort. A\u0300 l\u2019interface entre le public et le prive\u0301, entre le collectif et l\u2019individuel, une culture spatiale spe\u0301cifique s\u2019y de\u0301veloppe, associant des activite\u0301s extre\u0302mement diverses et des lieux de sociabilite\u0301 foisonnants. Les ruelles constituent alors autant de fene\u0302tres ouvertes sur la petite me\u0301canique me\u0301tropolitaine vietnamienne du quotidien. Les mutations y sont moins spectaculaires \u2013 y compris au sens litte\u0301ral de leur mise en spectacle \u2013, mais tout aussi profondes et re\u0301ve\u0301latrices des transformations de la socie\u0301te\u0301 vietnamienne et de sa que\u0302te de \u00ab modernite\u0301 \u00bb dans un pays au re\u0301gime politique autoritaire.<\/p>\n

Pour saisir le fonctionnement quotidien de ces \u00ab envers me\u0301tropolitains \u00bb, Marie Gibert- Flutre articule l\u2019e\u0301tude de leur morphologie et de leur gestion politique avec celle des pratiques sociales qui s\u2019y de\u0301ploient et des temporalite\u0301s qui les structurent, a\u0300 partir de l\u2019e\u0301tude de six quartiers de ruelles. Cette e\u0301tude magistrale, a\u0300 la croise\u0301e de la ge\u0301ographie, de l\u2019anthropologie urbaine et de l\u2019urbanisme, renouvelle et e\u0301largit en particulier la notion d\u2019\u00ab espace public \u00bb \u2013 historiquement issue de la pense\u0301e urbaine occidentale \u2013 par sa confrontation avec le terrain vietnamien.<\/p>\n
