Marc Orange fut un pionner des \u00e9tudes cor\u00e9ennes en France. Il figure parmi les tous premiers laur\u00e9ats du premier dipl\u00f4me acad\u00e9mique de langue cor\u00e9enne en 1964 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00c9cole nationale des Langues orientales vivantes (Langues\u2019o, actuel INALCO). Dipl\u00f4m\u00e9 en droit, en chinois, il se sp\u00e9cialisa en litt\u00e9rature cor\u00e9enne et mena d\u2019importants travaux de d\u00e9pouillement des archives diplomatiques. Recrut\u00e9 au CNRS, il assura des cours de cor\u00e9en \u00e0 l\u2019UFR pendant trente ans (1971-2002), et en fut m\u00eame directeur au d\u00e9but de la cr\u00e9ation de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Paris 7. Ses liens avec l\u2019UFR LCAO furent \u00e9troits et il s\u2019int\u00e9ressa jusqu\u2019au bout au devenir de la section et de ses anciens coll\u00e8gues. Les enseignants chercheurs de la section d\u2019\u00e9tudes cor\u00e9ennes – dont certains furent ses anciens \u00e9tudiants – lui doivent beaucoup. Discret, efficace, il travaillait s\u00e9rieusement sans se prendre au s\u00e9rieux et ne ratait pas une occasion de servir la cause acad\u00e9mique, longtemps fragile, des \u00e9tudes cor\u00e9ennes. Il laisse une m\u00e9moire photographique immense de la croissance des \u00e9tudes cor\u00e9ennes en France et en Europe. Son sourire malicieux et son regard toujours bienveillant \u00e9clairent \u00e0 jamais notre m\u00e9moire.<\/p>\n
