Diplom\u00e9 de l\u2019Ecole Nationale des arts D\u00e9coratifs<\/strong>, Charles Castella r\u00e9alise des films de fiction et des documentaires prim\u00e9s dans de nombreux festivals. Il collabore \u00e9galement \u00e0 plusieurs sc\u00e9narios de cin\u00e9ma, fait du casting pour Nanni Moretti<\/strong>. En 1995 Il est charg\u00e9 de mission pour le centenaire du cin\u00e9ma dont il tire un livre d\u2019entretiens aux \u00e9ditions du journal \u00ab\u00a0Le Monde\u00a0<\/em>\u00bb et des portraits de cin\u00e9astes pour Arte (Le cin\u00e9ma vers son 2\u00e8me<\/sup> si\u00e8cle<\/strong>). En 1998, il r\u00e9alise Petite M\u00e9t\u00e9orologie<\/strong><\/em> (France2) qui donne naissance en 1999, \u00e0 son long-m\u00e9trage, La vie est dure, nous aussi<\/strong><\/em>. Il renoue avec le format court pour la s\u00e9rie Scalpel<\/strong><\/em> (Arte).<\/p>\n Entre 2002 et 2012, Arte lui commande un portrait de Marseille, puis un film sur la r\u00e9gion des Marches en Italie.Suivent les courts-m\u00e9trages : Un souvenir de Claire Coums<\/em>, La fille du loup maigre<\/em>, L\u2019Institutriste<\/em><\/strong>.
