Les \u00e9tudiant.e.s de la licence Lettres et sciences humaines ont la possibilit\u00e9 de se sp\u00e9cialiser progressivement dans le domaine de l’\u00e9dition. L’\u00e9dition est une option en premi\u00e8re et en deuxi\u00e8me ann\u00e9e: les \u00e9tudiant.e.s qui le souhaitent peuvent suivre deux enseignements sp\u00e9cifiques en premi\u00e8re ann\u00e9e puis quatre autres en deuxi\u00e8me ann\u00e9e.<\/p>\n

En troisi\u00e8me ann\u00e9e, l’option \u00e9dition devient un parcours sp\u00e9cifique (licence de lettres, parcours \u00e9dition). Il accueille prioritairement\u00a0les \u00e9tudiants de Paris Diderot\u00a0qui ont valid\u00e9 les six enseignements optionnels de L1 et L2, mais il est ouvert aux candidatures d’\u00e9tudiant.e.s ayant valid\u00e9 leurs deux premi\u00e8res ann\u00e9es ailleurs. Les \u00e9tudiant.e.s accueillis directement en L3 sont tenus de suivre les cours d’\u00e9dition de L1 et de L2 en plus des cours de L3.<\/p>\n

La troisi\u00e8me ann\u00e9e est partag\u00e9e entre des cours de lettres, des cours d’\u00e9dition et un stage de trois \u00e0 six mois dans une maison d’\u00e9dition. \u00c0 l’issue de ce parcours, la plupart des \u00e9tudiants int\u00e8grent des masters d’\u00e9dition et ils trouvent rapidement un emploi par la suite.<\/p>\n

Litt\u00e9rature de jeunesse et apprentissage de la lecture<\/h3>\n

Depuis quand les\u00a0albums de litt\u00e9rature de jeunesse sont-ils des supports p\u00e9dagogiques pour l\u2019apprentissage de la lecture\u2009? Comment la conception de la lecture a-t-elle \u00e9volu\u00e9 avec l\u2019importance croissante de ces albums dans les instructions officielles\u2009? Quelles difficult\u00e9s nouvelles cette \u00e9volution a-t-elle entra\u00een\u00e9es pour les enseignants\u2009?<\/p>\n

Samuel Pinto, chercheur en sciences de l\u2019\u00e9ducation \u00e0 l\u2019universit\u00e9 Paris\u00a08, est venu r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 ces questions pour les \u00e9tudiants du parcours \u00e9dition de la licence de lettres, dans le cadre du cours d\u2019histoire des livres.<\/p>\n

Les instructions officielles de 1923 faisaient du d\u00e9chiffrage l\u2019apprentissage fondamental. L\u2019enfant apprenait \u00e0 d\u00e9coder et la question de la compr\u00e9hension \u00e9tait accessoire. Les instructions officielles de 1972 rompent avec cette conception de la lecture en donnant la priorit\u00e9 \u00e0 la compr\u00e9hension. Mais c\u2019est en 2002 que la litt\u00e9rature de jeunesse est consacr\u00e9e comme le support id\u00e9al pour apprendre \u00e0 lire\u00a0avec l\u2019affirmation que \u00ables textes litt\u00e9raires (albums d\u2019abord, nouvelles ou courts romans ensuite) doivent \u00eatre au c\u0153ur des activit\u00e9s de l\u2019\u00e9cole \u00e9l\u00e9mentaire\u00bb. D\u00e8s lors, il faut non seulement d\u00e9coder et comprendre, mais aussi interpr\u00e9ter.<\/p>\n

L\u2019\u00e9dition suit cette \u00e9volution et parfois l\u2019anticipe. L\u2019album entre dans l\u2019\u00e8re moderne \u00e0 partir des ann\u00e9es\u00a01930, avec Babar et les premiers albums du P\u00e8re Castor. L\u2019illustration n\u2019est plus un simple accompagnement du texte, elle participe \u00e0 la narration. Dans les ann\u00e9es\u00a01960 et 1970, l\u2019album devient un objet s\u00e9miotique de plus en plus complexe, jouant de l\u2019implicite et de la rupture avec les st\u00e9r\u00e9otypes. Les livres de L\u2019\u00c9cole des loisirs ou un ouvrage comme Max et les maximonstres en sont des exemples. Les albums les plus r\u00e9cents (depuis les ann\u00e9es\u00a01980) exigent souvent une lecture experte, soit parce qu\u2019ils regorgent de r\u00e9f\u00e9rences litt\u00e9raires et culturelles, soit par la complexit\u00e9 de leur structure.<\/p>\n

L\u2019utilisation de ces albums pour l\u2019apprentissage de la lecture met en difficult\u00e9 les \u00e9l\u00e8ves les plus \u00e9loign\u00e9s de la culture scolaire. Ils n\u2019\u00e9prouvent pas le plaisir que les enseignants et les \u00e9diteurs \u00e9voquent souvent quand ils parlent de ces livres et sont au contraire embarrass\u00e9s par la multiplicit\u00e9 des obstacles cognitifs. Pour sortir de ce malentendu, il ne faut pas n\u00e9cessairement revenir \u00e0 des ouvrages plus simples, dit Samuel Pinto, mais il importe d\u2019enseigner toutes les comp\u00e9tences attendues, en explicitant et en structurant les apprentissages.<\/p>\n
