This research project proposes to respond to the gaps in the health attention of the E’\u00f1apa people, probably aggravated by the mining exploitation of the Orinoco Mining Arc project launched in February 2016 in Venezuela. By formulating a research program enabling health promotion strategies to be adapted to the E’\u00f1apa context, this project aims to recognize the traditional specificities of this people while taking into account exposure to risks linked to the development dynamics of exogenous economic activities .<\/p>\n

This research project proposes an original, multi-sited socio-economic study of credit risk in two provinces of central Vietnam, Nghe An and Ha Tinh, from which regular migrants to North-East Asia and irregular migrants to Europe depart, and two European host countries for Vietnamese irregular migrants: Germany and the UK. Credit risk is the conceptual device that highlights the co-constitutive nature of financialization and debt-financed migration.<\/p>\n

This international symposium follows on from a seminar<\/a> and a workshop<\/a> supported by GRIP since 2022.<\/div>\n

The international symposium will take place in December 2024. It will focus first and foremost on the past in terms of long-term dynamics.\u00a0 The aim is to mobilize specialist historians as well as non-specialist colleagues, of different status and generation, who wish to contribute to an understanding of emotions and sensorialities based on a variety of objects and terrains, through crossed and multiscalar approaches.<\/div>\n

The symposium will be the subject of an international call for papers via Calenda. It will also be supported by the presence of French and international colleagues renowned for their work on these issues.<\/div>\n

The aim of this research project is to produce a multi-sited body of knowledge on the spaces in which people from migrant backgrounds anchor themselves in the city through work. This focus on one type of space, explored in several geographical and political contexts, at several points in people’s migratory itineraries, enables us to formulate three areas of questioning that we wish to grasp empirically:<\/div>\n

Support for the organization of the Global History Summer School in Sandjberg (Denmark) for the second year running. The project aims to develop student mobility and academic collaboration between global history specialists from the Circle U and The Guild networks of six leading European universities. The aim is to create a network of excellence of junior and senior researchers in global history for doctoral students in history, with a view to interdisciplinary debates in the social sciences on a European scale.
