Cet ouvrage de r\u00e9f\u00e9rence international (BRILL, 2025, acc\u00e8s libre) est un projet encyclop\u00e9dique couvrant les vari\u00e9t\u00e9s de cosmopolitisme enracin\u00e9es dans diff\u00e9rentes traditions de pens\u00e9e (en Occident, en Europe, dans l\u2019espace m\u00e9diterran\u00e9en, dans le monde islamique et au Moyen-Orient, en Asie de l\u2019Est et du Sud, dans les soci\u00e9t\u00e9s subsahariennes et ailleurs). Fond\u00e9 sur la perspective d\u2019un dialogue v\u00e9ritablement enrichissant entre des chercheurs vivant dans des soci\u00e9t\u00e9s distinctes et \u00e9loign\u00e9es, ce livre part de l\u2019id\u00e9e que le cosmopolitisme, n\u00e9 des Lumi\u00e8res europ\u00e9ennes et proposant une voie vers l\u2019universalit\u00e9, est n\u00e9anmoins une production culturelle situ\u00e9e, accus\u00e9 de perp\u00e9tuer des injustices \u00e9pist\u00e9miques et de trahir son aspiration ultime \u00e0 l\u2019inclusion. Il convient donc de se demander si le cosmopolitisme peut survivre \u00e0 la critique de son all\u00e9geance \u00e0 l\u2019universel h\u00e9g\u00e9monique occidental, et de s\u2019interroger sur ses possibles enrichissements par d\u2019autres contributions non occidentales, de sorte que le cosmopolitisme devienne r\u00e9ellement \u00ab\u00a0le cosmopolitisme de tout le monde\u00a0\u00bb. L\u2019approche cosmopolite est fond\u00e9e dans des perspectives normatives et empiriques, situ\u00e9es, qui s\u2019inscrivent toutes dans la dialectique de l\u2019universel et du particulier. Loin de r\u00e9duire les autres \u00e0 des subalternes, les multiples traditions \u00ab\u00a0cosmopolites\u00a0\u00bb, dont la tradition occidentale n\u2019est qu\u2019une, permettent de comprendre un monde pluriel et partag\u00e9, comme l\u2019a montr\u00e9 une riche litt\u00e9rature scientifique. De l\u2019horizon universel de l\u2019Humanit\u00e9 saisie dans ses diff\u00e9rentes formes de vie et de revendications, na\u00eet ce que nous appelons le \u00ab\u00a0cosmopolitisme de tous\u00a0\u00bb (en r\u00e9f\u00e9rence au livre de Gertrud Stein, \u00ab\u00a0L\u2019autobiographie de tous\u00a0\u00bb) : ce sont des formes de cosmopolitisme qui dessinent la possibilit\u00e9 d\u2019un monde inclusif et juste, pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment \u00e0 travers la rencontre avec les autres et en se soumettant \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9preuve des autres, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire en recevant leurs critiques et en construisant des ponts. L\u2019enjeu sera la coproduction (avec la reconnaissance des d\u00e9fis l\u00e9gitimes en cours de route) de normes et de valeurs communes qui rassembleront les diff\u00e9rents h\u00e9ritages et traditions sur un pied d\u2019\u00e9galit\u00e9.<\/p>\n
