La boussole, un vieil outil de pr\u00e8s de 2000 ans, a pour vocation d\u2019indiquer la direction du Nord magn\u00e9tique. Son fonctionnement ? Une aiguille constitu\u00e9e d\u2019un aimant qui produit un moment magn\u00e9tique pour la faire s\u2019aligner avec le champ magn\u00e9tique terrestre. Fascin\u00e9s par cet objet, un groupe de quatre \u00e9l\u00e8ves de la promotion 2022 de l\u2019Ecole d\u2019ing\u00e9nieur Denis Diderot a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de transformer cet outil afin de l\u2019adapter \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e8re et aux besoins de notre \u00e9poque.<\/span><\/p>\n

Participation au concours national Parabole<\/b><\/h3>\n

Chaque ann\u00e9e, le CNES organise le Laur\u00e9at du concours national Parabole o\u00f9 l\u2019objectif est de r\u00e9aliser un projet ou une exp\u00e9rience n\u00e9cessitant des conditions d\u2019impesanteur (le vol est pr\u00e9vu pour <\/span>octobre 2021<\/b>). Un groupe d\u2019\u00e9tudiants de l\u2019EIDD fait partie des trois \u00e9quipes s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9es pour le concours. Cette \u00e9quipe, compos\u00e9e de Roshan ANTON (Chef de Projet), de Thomas MARQUIS (Sp\u00e9cialiste de l\u2019architecture des syst\u00e8mes physiques), de Camille SGRILLO (Sp\u00e9cialiste des mat\u00e9riaux); et de Alexis BOUSQUET (Sp\u00e9cialiste des syst\u00e8mes informatiques embarqu\u00e9s) ont d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de cr\u00e9er un <\/span>moteur g\u00e9omagn\u00e9tique<\/b>. Ce moteur, qui peut atteindre de grandes vitesses, ne s\u2019appuie sur aucun support physique pour tourner et ne g\u00e9n\u00e8re aucun frottement. Il est adapt\u00e9 aux conditions d\u2019orbites basses, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire \u00e0 une absence de gravit\u00e9 et \u00e0 une pr\u00e9sence de champ magn\u00e9tique terrestre significatif.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Motivations et futur du projet<\/b><\/h3>\n

Pour mener \u00e0 bien ce projet, l\u2019\u00e9quipe dispose d\u2019une ann\u00e9e d\u2019\u00e9tude, \u00e0 l\u2019issue de laquelle le moteur sera test\u00e9 dans des conditions d\u2019impesanteur. \u00ab De longs mois d\u2019\u00e9tudes et de travail nous attendent, mais \u00e0 la clef une aventure humaine et scientifique inoubliable. \u00bb d\u00e9clare Roshan.<\/span><\/p>\n

A une \u00e9poque o\u00f9 la pollution spatiale est croissante et inqui\u00e8te, la mise en place de moyens innovants afin de r\u00e9duire cette pollution est imp\u00e9rative si l\u2019on veut conserver l\u2019acc\u00e8s \u00e0 l\u2019orbite basse. C\u2019est dans ce contexte que s\u2019inscrit le projet, \u201cnous pensons vraiment que ce moyen original de se mouvoir dans l\u2019espace peut apporter une solution durable et efficace \u00e0 cette probl\u00e9matique.\u201d\u00a0 Le moteur pourrait \u00e9galement cr\u00e9er une gravit\u00e9 artificielle due \u00e0 la force centrifuge g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9e par sa rotation et permettre de faciliter le stockage de l\u2019\u00e9nergie sous forme cin\u00e9tique.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Des conf\u00e9rences en \u00e9tablissements seront organis\u00e9es avec des repr\u00e9sentants du CNES – NOVESPACE et \u00e9ventuellement d\u2019autres \u00e9quipes s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9es. Cette initiative permettrait de faire conna\u00eetre la campagne Parabole \u00e0 un public plus large dont l\u2019imagination ne demande qu\u2019\u00e0 s\u2019exprimer.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
