We are deeply saddened by the death of Prof. Stavros Katsanevas on the 27th of November, 2022.<\/p>\n

Before leading the Astroparticule et Cosmologie laboratory (APC), from 2014 to 2017, Stavros was one of its founders. He found his way to this role as Deputy Scientific Director of IN2P3 between 2002 and 2012, in charge of Astroparticles, Cosmology and Neutrino Physics.<\/p>\n

At the forefront, Stavros has been behind many scientific initiatives and coordination actions such as the European ILIAS and ASPERA programmes, which have led to the creation of the European Consortium for Astroparticles (APPEC), which aims to develop a common roadmap in the field.<\/p>\n

With a great open mind, he has fostered all the bridges: between earth sciences and universe sciences, between art and science, between science and society.<\/p>\n

Stavros died as he finished his term as head of the European Gravitation Observatory (EGO) and was preparing for his return to the APC laboratory as Professor Em\u00e9rite, determined to conquer the Moon to detect gravitational waves.
Stavros leaves us a legacy of vision and passion.<\/p>\n
