Argumentaire<\/h3>\n

Consid\u00e9rant que, dans l\u2019histoire litt\u00e9raire, des rapprochements spontan\u00e9s sont faits entre des styles, individuels ou collectifs, et des positions politiques, le s\u00e9minaire de recherche \u00ab\u00a0Politiques du style\u00a0\u00bb a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 d\u2019interroger les interactions entre ces deux domaines, et d\u2019identifier leurs modalit\u00e9s.<\/p>\n

Pour ce faire, nous invitons des chercheurs dont les publications \u00e9clairent les rapports entre politique et style sous un angle nouveau\u00a0; certaines s\u00e9ances sont en outre consacr\u00e9es \u00e0 des travaux in\u00e9dits, qui constituent autant de prises de recul th\u00e9orique et m\u00e9thodologique sur les disciplines litt\u00e9raires et stylistiques.<\/p>\n

Le s\u00e9minaire s\u2019int\u00e9resse \u00e0 ce que l\u2019on pourrait appeler l\u2019environnement politique des styles litt\u00e9raires. Ce premier mode de rapprochement d\u00e9coule d\u2019une simple juxtaposition\u00a0: qu\u2019un \u00e9crivain soit lib\u00e9ral, r\u00e9actionnaire, f\u00e9ministe ou raciste, il aura toujours un style, susceptible d\u2019\u00eatre caract\u00e9ris\u00e9 en termes politiques par un simple effet de contigu\u00eft\u00e9. Au prix d\u2019un saut logique, le style des auteurs libertaires deviendrait ainsi le style libertaire. L\u2019environnement politique inclut \u00e9galement les \u00ab\u00a0imaginaires stylistiques\u00a0\u00bb, ces discours qui circulent sur le style, et qui sont r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement travers\u00e9s d\u2019enjeux et de repr\u00e9sentations politiques. La vocation des stylisticien\u00b7ne\u00b7s est entre autres d\u2019\u00e9prouver la congruence des discours et des pratiques, en portant une attention particuli\u00e8re \u00e0 la source des jugements stylistiques (les critiques, les savant\u00b7e\u00b7s, le grand public, l\u2019auteur lui-m\u00eame).<\/p>\n

Mais le s\u00e9minaire entend surtout saisir la dimension politique des mani\u00e8res d\u2019\u00e9crire elles-m\u00eames. Il a vocation \u00e0 accueillir diverses approches. Certaines sont d\u2019ordre sociologique\u00a0: le style est toujours style en langue, il est symptomatique d\u2019un ancrage de classe\u00a0; il est aussi une prise de position dans le champ litt\u00e9raire, distinguant un\u00b7e \u00e9crivain\u00b7e de ses confr\u00e8res et cons\u0153urs. D\u2019autres empruntent \u00e0 la pragmatique\u00a0: le style est une mise en forme du discours qui a une vis\u00e9e (argumentative ou affective)\u00a0; en s\u00e9lectionnant des allocutaires, il dessine une communaut\u00e9 politique. Quelques approches, enfin, soul\u00e8vent des enjeux cognitifs ou psychologiques\u00a0: le style, quoique en apparence ext\u00e9rieur aux rapports sociaux, est un lieu de \u00ab\u00a0r\u00e9solution symbolique\u00a0\u00bb (Jameson) des contradictions et des conflits (de classe, mais aussi de d\u00e9sir)\u00a0; en tant que mise en forme langagi\u00e8re d\u2019une vision du monde, d\u2019un d\u00e9coupage particulier du r\u00e9el, un style engage un rapport au temps, \u00e0 l\u2019espace, \u00e0 la rationalit\u00e9, \u00e0 autrui, etc., et en tant que telle invite \u00e0 \u00e9laborer une ph\u00e9nom\u00e9nologie stylistique (elle-m\u00eame amen\u00e9e \u00e0 aborder les enjeux politiques \u00e0 travers sa grille conceptuelle propre, selon qu\u2019on s\u2019appuie sur une ph\u00e9nom\u00e9nologie heideggerienne, sartrienne, levinassienne, etc.).<\/p>\n

Enfin, les productions litt\u00e9raires sont conjointement langagi\u00e8res (que ce soit sous une forme discursive ou narrative) et id\u00e9ologiques. Ainsi, une p\u00e9riode historique donn\u00e9e produit des n\u0153uds id\u00e9ologiques (ou \u00ab\u00a0id\u00e9olog\u00e8mes\u00a0\u00bb) qui se cristallisent dans certaines formes litt\u00e9raires. Analyser les pratiques stylistiques sur un mode historique doit permettre d\u2019articuler l\u2019interpr\u00e9tation litt\u00e9raire \u00e0 une p\u00e9riodisation des rapports sociaux et \u00e9conomiques.<\/p>\n
