Cette choralit\u00e9 joue \u00e0 Ath\u00e8nes un r\u00f4le tout \u00e0 fait sp\u00e9cifique\u00a0:\u00a0 les choreutes, recrut\u00e9s parmi les citoyens, participent par leurs danses et leurs chants aux concours th\u00e9\u00e2traux des Grandes Dionysies. Le double ancrage de la performance chorale dans le rituel de la cit\u00e9 d\u00e9mocratique d\u2019Ath\u00e8nes et dans le drame tragique produit une voix collective caract\u00e9ris\u00e9e par une polyphonie. Deux ouvrages r\u00e9cents reviennent sur cette choralit\u00e9\u00a0: dans <em>Choral Constructions in Greek Culture<\/em>, Deborah Tarn Steiner explore l\u2019imaginaire des formes chorales \u00e0 Ath\u00e8nes dans la danse et le chant tandis que Renaud Gagn\u00e9 et Marianne Givers Hopman dans <em>Choral Mediations in Greek Tragedy\u00a0<\/em>rendent compte des ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes complexes de m\u00e9diation port\u00e9es par le ch\u0153ur.\u00a0 Cette r\u00e9flexion sur le ch\u0153ur s\u2019inscrit dans une plus vaste r\u00e9flexion contemporaine sur le \u00ab\u00a0commun\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0: pour notre modernit\u00e9, l\u2019imaginaire du ch\u0153ur d\u2019\u00e9gaux chantant et dansant \u00e0 l\u2019unisson renvoie \u00e0 l\u2019id\u00e9al d\u00e9mocratique de l\u2019Ath\u00e8nes ancienne. Vincent Azoulay et Paulin Ismard ont rappel\u00e9 comment \u00ab\u00a0faire cit\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb \u00e0 Ath\u00e8nes c\u2019est \u00ab\u00a0faire ch\u0153ur\u00a0\u00bb au travers des formes coll\u00e9giales du politique. Cet horizon d\u00e9mocratique est abord\u00e9 dans l\u2019ouvrage d\u2019Estel Baudou, <em>Cr\u00e9er le ch\u0153ur tragique<\/em>, qui explore la fa\u00e7on dont les mises en sc\u00e8ne modernes des trag\u00e9dies anciennes \u00e0 la fin du vingti\u00e8me si\u00e8cle cherchent, dans leur usage du ch\u0153ur, \u00e0 reconstruire du \u00ab\u00a0commun\u00a0\u00bb dans une Europe o\u00f9 le politique est en crise.<\/p>\n<p>Les deux journ\u00e9es d\u2019\u00e9tude que nous proposons visent \u00e0 prolonger ces r\u00e9flexions en analysant les interactions entre le ch\u0153ur tragique et les autres acteurs en sc\u00e8ne.
