Cet ouvrage propose d\u2019abord une d\u00e9finition du posthumanisme comme un syst\u00e8me de discours, cherchant ainsi \u00e0 rendre compte de la multiplicit\u00e9 des perspectives qu\u2019il ouvre, des implications pour les r\u00e9flexions et repr\u00e9sentations litt\u00e9raires et cin\u00e9matographiques, et des positionnements politiques, parfois radicalement oppos\u00e9s, qu\u2019il suscite.
Sont ensuite pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es douze recherches, centr\u00e9es sur trois aires g\u00e9ographiques et culturelles\u00a0 : la premi\u00e8re partie porte sur l\u2019Europe et les \u00c9tats-Unis\u00a0 ; dans la deuxi\u00e8me, pour la premi\u00e8re fois, sont \u00e9tudi\u00e9s les discours du posthumanisme dans l\u2019Am\u00e9rique latine.
