On connaissait d\u00e9j\u00e0 par des expositions dans les ann\u00e9es 70 et par des publications en revue (notamment le \u00ab Cahier du Temps qu\u2019il fait \u00bb en 1991, certaines reproductions dans le \u00ab Quarto \u00bb) l\u2019activit\u00e9 picturale de Louis-Ren\u00e9 des For\u00eats, \u00e0 laquelle il s\u2019est consacr\u00e9 durant plusieurs ann\u00e9es alors qu\u2019il avait cess\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9crire. Mais on en avait jamais eu que des vues partielles, plus ou moins bien reproduites. C\u2019est donc un manque que vient combler cette publication collective, en permettant de reproduire en grand format les soixante et une peintures de l\u2019auteur et la totalit\u00e9 de ses dessins. L\u2019ouvrage sert donc de catalogue raisonn\u00e9 de toute cette \u0153uvre secr\u00e8te pour la donner \u00e0 voir de la fa\u00e7on la plus exacte et la plus agr\u00e9able, de la d\u00e9couvrir enfin dans l\u2019ampleur et l\u2019originalit\u00e9 de ses compositions, dans la vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de ses r\u00e9alisations plastiques.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fichetech rub_1\">\n<div class=\"acheter\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"texte surlignable clearfix\">\n<p>Reprenant son titre \u00e0 celui d\u2019un des tableaux de des For\u00eats, cet ouvrage propose aussi une v\u00e9ritable enqu\u00eate biographique et critique de la constitution de l\u2019\u0153uvre picturale, en reprenant patiemment la chronologie des dessins et des tableaux, pour \u00e9tablir pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment l\u2019arch\u00e9ologie ancienne d\u2019une activit\u00e9 qui remonte aux ann\u00e9es de coll\u00e8ge entre 1930 et 1932. On trouvera ainsi l\u2019ensemble des dessins que le jeune des For\u00eats fait sous nom d\u2019emprunt de ses camarades et de ses ma\u00eetres, et o\u00f9 il jette les bases de l\u2019univers adolescent qui irrigue son \u0153uvre jusqu\u2019\u00e0 Ostinato. On d\u00e9couvrira aussi une s\u00e9rie de dessins de facture plus r\u00e9aliste, des choses vues prises plus ou moins sur le vif, comme lors d\u2019un voyage en Angleterre en 1970.<br class=\"autobr\" \/>Il faut donc souligner que l\u2019ouvrage donne acc\u00e8s pour la premi\u00e8re fois \u00e0 une part v\u00e9ritablement cach\u00e9e de l\u2019\u0153uvre, qui est ainsi mise en rapport avec les tableaux, eux aussi donn\u00e9s \u00e0 voir pour la premi\u00e8re fois de fa\u00e7on exhaustive, et dans un format qui leur rend mieux justice.<br class=\"autobr\" \/>Cessant d\u2019\u00e9crire entre 1968 et 1974, Louis-Ren\u00e9 des For\u00eats trouve dans la libert\u00e9 du dessin et dans l\u2019aventure de la gouache une autre mani\u00e8re de s\u2019exprimer, sans doute plus proche d\u2019un monde onirique auquel il donne libre cours, dans des compositions souvent baroques qui jouent des effets de redoublement et de miroir. Quand il entreprend \u00e0 partir de 1975 \u00ab\u00a0L\u00e9gendes\u00a0\u00bb qui deviendra Ostinato, il pose d\u00e9finitivement crayons et pinceaux. Mais le d\u00e9tour par la peinture, par les visions qui s\u2019imposent \u00e0 lui pendant ces ann\u00e9es, a nourri le retour \u00e0 une \u00e9criture po\u00e9tique et obliquement autobiographique.<br class=\"autobr\" \/>Pour accompagner ce voyage dans les tableaux et les dessins, l\u2019ouvrage propose aussi plusieurs pistes de r\u00e9flexion sur les liens entre \u00e9criture et dessin.
