Archives du vivant. Mus\u00e9ographie des sciences naturelles et cin\u00e9ma<\/h3>\n

Des animaux empaill\u00e9s derri\u00e8re une vitrine, mais mis en sc\u00e8ne en pleine action. Tableaux (morts) vivants qui archivent une exp\u00e9rience d\u2019exploration \u00e0 la mani\u00e8re composite d\u2019un carnet de voyage, dans les habitat dioramas. Une cam\u00e9ra (35mm, Akeley Motion Picture Camera) nouvellement brevet\u00e9e (1915), afin de pouvoir garder des images fid\u00e8les de ces animaux dans leur habitat. Carl Ethan Akeley (1864-1926), figure romanesque et contradictoire, dont le parcours est rattach\u00e9 \u00e0 la fois \u00e0 la mus\u00e9ographie de la nature (dans les institutions comme l\u2019American Museum of Natural History de NYC) et \u00e0 la prise de vue d\u2019images en mouvement (cin\u00e9ma utilitaire, acte de documentation), sera notre point de d\u00e9part pour explorer quelques croisements entre l\u2019exhibition des sciences naturelles et le cin\u00e9ma.<\/p>\n

Viva Paci est professeure de Th\u00e9ories du cin\u00e9ma \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al, o\u00f9 elle dirige le labdoc (Le laboratoire de recherche sur les pratiques documentaires audiovisuelles). C\u2019est d\u2019un point de vue interm\u00e9dial qu\u2019elle travaille sur les relations entre cin\u00e9ma et mus\u00e9e, cin\u00e9ma et t\u00e9l\u00e9vision et sur les premiers temps de l\u2019imagerie num\u00e9rique. Ses r\u00e9flexions actuelles portent sur cin\u00e9ma et taxidermie.<\/p>\n

Le Capital de Serguei\u0308 Eisenstein (1927-1928) est un fanto\u0302me a\u0300 plus d\u2019un titre: bien que le film n\u2019ait jamais e\u0301te\u0301 re\u0301alise\u0301, il a ne\u0301anmoins hante\u0301 l'imagination de nombreux cine\u0301astes, historiens et e\u0301crivains jusqu\u2019a\u0300 aujourd\u2019hui. Sa premie\u0300re mate\u0301rialisation publique \u2013 un fragment d\u2019une dizaine de pages issu des carnets du re\u0301alisateur \u2013 e\u0301tait marque\u0301e par ce qui demeurait absent : les images et le mate\u0301riau de travail d\u2019Eisenstein.<\/p>

La Danse des valeurs ambitionne d\u2019invoquer a\u0300 nouveaux frais le fanto\u0302me du Capital mais en se fondant cette fois-ci sur l\u2019ensemble de son corps d\u2019archives. Cette \u00ab instruction visuelle a\u0300 la me\u0301thode dialectique \u00bb, selon les mots-me\u0302mes d\u2019Eisenstein, comprend plus de 500 pages de notes, de dessins, de coupures de presse, de diagrammes d\u2019expression, de plans d\u2019articles, de ne\u0301gatifs d\u2019Octobre, de re\u0301flexions the\u0301oriques et de longues citations.<\/p>
