d\u2019obst\u00e9trique, sous l\u2019\u00e9gide de Sevestre et de Pinard. L\u00e0, cet amoureux du dessin et de la peinture (il est le fr\u00e8re du peintre Jules Flandrin) se d\u00e9couvre une vocation de collectionneur, qu\u2019il date dans ses carnets de sa premi\u00e8re promenade entre le pont Saint-Michel et le Pont-Neuf, le 1er ao\u00fbt 1890.<\/strong> N\u00e9e de la bibliophilie, sa passion s\u2019\u00e9tend aux affiches, chansons et journaux illustr\u00e9s. C\u2019est charg\u00e9 de plusieurs centaines de livres qu\u2019il regagne Grenoble en 1895 pour s\u2019y installer d\u00e9finitivement, apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9 au concours m\u00e9decin accoucheur en chef du service d\u2019obst\u00e9trique qui venait d\u2019\u00eatre cr\u00e9\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019h\u00f4pital de la ville.<\/p>\n Il s\u2019installe au-dessus de la pharmacie de son p\u00e8re Joseph III (1837-1903), au 11 place de Grenette. D\u00e8s lors, il partage sa vie entre son m\u00e9tier et sa passion des arts et de la collection, qui trouve un second souffle en investissant tous les domaines des activit\u00e9s culturelles de sa terre natale du Dauphinois. La recherche de fragments du pass\u00e9 de Grenoble et de sa r\u00e9gion constitue en effet le fil rouge de sa vaste collection de peintures, dessins, gravures, objets d\u2019arts d\u00e9coratif et populaire, photographies, manuscrits, imprim\u00e9s, etc.<\/strong> Il \u0153uvre \u00e9galement toute sa vie pour la pr\u00e9servation et la promotion de l\u2019art et du patrimoine r\u00e9gional. Dans cette \u00ab\u00a0chasse aux petites bribes\u00a0\u00bb, Flandrin d\u00e9couvre, trop tardivement selon ses dires, l\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat singulier des vieux papiers vou\u00e9s \u00e0 la disparition, mais \u00ab\u00a0o\u00f9 l\u2019on trouve tout \u00e0 glaner\u00a0\u00bb. R\u00e9cup\u00e9r\u00e9s dans des greniers, achet\u00e9s au poids chez les papetiers, aux puces ou chez des marchands, \u00ab\u00a0sauv\u00e9s de la disparition au prix d\u2019un tri au galetas\u00a0\u00bb, ils rec\u00e8lent bon nombre de tr\u00e9sors, dont il consigne la d\u00e9couverte dans son journal.<\/p>\n \u00c0 la mort de Joseph en 1942, les papiers entrent en d\u00e9sh\u00e9rence, passant d\u2019un grenier familial \u00e0 un autre, jusqu\u2019\u00e0 ce que son petit-fils Georges Flandrin (1934-2021), soucieux de pr\u00e9server les archives familiales, se penche \u00e0 son tour sur la collection, \u00e0 partir des ann\u00e9es 1960. Lorsque sa carri\u00e8re dans les h\u00f4pitaux parisiens de Saint-Louis et Necker lui en laisse le loisir, puis pendant sa retraite, il examine, trie, classe et inventorie les papiers, qu\u2019il documente largement. Apr\u00e8s avoir pass\u00e9 une partie de sa scolarit\u00e9 au coll\u00e8ge du Pont de Beauvoisin, puis au lyc\u00e9e de Grenoble, il s\u2019oriente vers des \u00e9tudes de pharmacie \u00e0 l\u2019\u00c9cole sup\u00e9rieure de pharmacie de Paris, de 1860 \u00e0 1864.<\/strong> Il effectue son internat \u00e0 l\u2019h\u00f4pital Lariboisi\u00e8re puis \u00e0 l\u2019H\u00f4tel-Dieu, avant de retourner dans sa r\u00e9gion d\u2019origine pour exercer en officine.<\/p>\n \u00c0 partir des ann\u00e9es 1870, il s\u2019engage dans plusieurs soci\u00e9t\u00e9s de secours mutuel et participe \u00e0 diverses commissions municipales portant notamment sur des questions de sant\u00e9 publique, comme le travail des enfants. La BIU Sant\u00e9 Pharmacie conserve sa correspondance de jeune \u00e9tudiant puis de praticien install\u00e9 ainsi que de nombreux documents t\u00e9moignant de ses activit\u00e9s scientifiques et
